Clinical approach

Before a person gets treatment, he or she is carefully and thoroughly checked out. This includes a full musculoskeletal/myofascial exam with a focus on range of motion, trigger points, biomechanical problems, working postures, and signs of nerve or blood vessel entrapment, as well as other tests based on symptoms. On the advice of an expert, a workstation evaluation (for biomechanical and ergonomic issues and nerve conduction studies), X-rays, an MRI, or a CT-scan may be done to find out more.

A variety of techniques

The treatment plan may include modalities from the vast array of treatments available at Smart Physiotherapy, such as: Myofascial Release, Active Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Positional Release, Soft Tissue & Articular Mobilizations, Spinal Mobilization (Mulligan/ Maitland's), Neural Mobilizations, Sports Massage, Taping Techniques (Kinesio/Endura), Integrated Neuro-Muscular Inhibition Techniques, and Adjunctive Techniques When necessary, aspects of stress management, breathing and relaxation techniques, physical and occupational therapy (strengthening exercises, muscle re-education) are utilised.
